Keep Your Deck Looking New
Melbourne's climate is tough on decks. Here's how to maintain yours properly.

- Replace any damaged boards
- Recoat high-traffic areas
The Oiling Process
#
1. Clean First
Use a deck cleaner and stiff brush. Remove all dirt, mould, and old flaking oil.#
2. Let It Dry
Wait 2-3 sunny days for timber to fully dry.#
3. Sand (If Needed)
Light sand removes grey weathering and opens timber pores.#
4. Apply Oil
Use quality decking oil (Intergrain, Feast Watson, Cutek). Apply with brush, roller, or sprayer.#
5. Second Coat
After 24 hours, apply second coat to end grain and high-wear areas.Composite Deck Maintenance
Much simpler:
- Monthly hose down
- Occasional scrub with soapy water
- Remove stains promptly
- Clear debris from gaps
- No oiling or staining ever
